What we do›Support in the community
Out the door, into your own life.
A worker alongside you for appointments, getting around, work or study, and a week with something in it. For anyone who wants to do more of their own life themselves.
What support in the community means
A worker comes with you: to the GP appointment you'd otherwise skip, to the gym, to TAFE, or on the tram until you can take it on your own.
It also covers the quieter things: a coffee somewhere you like, a walk, the market on Saturday. A week with something in it other than waiting.
You choose where. We come with you, and step back as you need us less.
Support in the community
What we help with
Getting places
Appointments, court dates, Centrelink, the chemist and the bank. Transport with a worker, or learning the route until you don't need one.
Being part of things
Sport, faith, music, a group at the library, volunteering, a mate's place. Whatever a good week looks like to you, we help make it happen and keep it happening.
Groups and programs
Small groups and centre-based activities where they suit you. They're an option rather than the default.

How we do it
Getting started
How it starts
Call us
Call us, or ask your support coordinator to.
We meet
We'll meet, talk about what you want more of in your week and introduce a worker before the first outing.
What it costs
If community support is funded in your plan's Core budget, the plan pays for it, not you. Transport is funded separately in many plans, and work or study support can sit in a different part of your plan. We'll show you how yours works before anything starts.
Questions
Things people ask us
What if I've tried work before and it didn't last?
Then you already know a lot about what doesn't work for you. We start from that. If you want us to talk to an employer, we only say what you agree to.
Can a worker drive me?
Yes, where your plan funds transport. We'll explain how the kilometres are claimed before the first trip.
What if I have a bad day and don't want to go?
Tell us. A shift can become a cup of tea at home, or move to another day. Nobody is marked down for it.
Can my worker come to court or to the hospital with me?
Yes. Having someone with you who knows you is part of the job.
How we work
Your worker is there to support you, not to report on you. Where the NDIS needs evidence, we write about what you did.
